The Bernardine Franciscan Sisters usually hold their annual Mardi Gras style fundraiser in person. However, due to the COVID-19 restrictions on gatherings, the Sisters decided it was better to host a virtual event for 2021.
Months of preparation went into building the 45 minute live show, which included several guest spots, pre-recorded video, a slide presentation, and live raffle. The live show was broadcast on YouTube LIVE to allow supporters watch the fundraiser from around the world.
All proceeds from the No Go BOnanza event benefited the Sisters work improving the lives of adults and children in downtown Reading and help to provide care for over 90 of their elderly and infirm Sisters.
To produce the event we used two remote cameras, one stationary, and one on a 3 axis gimbal for the ability to pan/tilt/zoom. Three independent microphones (two wireless and one wired) were used to allow hosts to walk around the stage while on camera. The production included over 25+ separate media assets to include in the broadcast.
To secure a stable internet connection we cell bonded 3 internet connections using Speedify. We used a combination of the in house WIFI, iPad 4G LTE, and AT&T Netgear Nighthawk 5G Hotspot.
