Reading Magazine is a digital news website owned by Hugg Media Group covering the City of Reading and Berks County featuring local positive stories, short web tv shows, and profiles of emerging community leaders.
Reading Magazine was created in 2016 by Hugg Media Group co-founder Jason Hugg to highlight positive news stories not being covered by traditional outlets.
Since launch, the magazine has produced several original web shows, covered major local stories, and provided residents an alternative to traditional local news.
Most notably, year after launch, Reading Magazine began producing a local tv show titled Bites of Berks to highlight local restaurants. Soon after completing the first season, the show caught the attention of Travel Channel host Andrew Zimmern. In promotion of his new show, The Zimmern List, Zimmern designated select Bites of Berks video clips top 5 in a national competition he hosted.
Today, Reading Magazine reaches over 25,000+ people a month and operates with a small team of dedicated reporters who work directly in the community sourcing news, taking photos/video, and a whole lot more.
