Hugg Media Group is a locally owned digital media company based in Reading, PA. As the publisher of Berks Weekly and Reading Magazine, we’re always exploring new ways to tell meaningful stories and connect with our community. If you’re passionate about people, place, and purpose — we’d love to hear from you.
Freelance Community Correspondents
We’re looking for reliable and curious individuals to help us gather community stories throughout Reading and Berks County.
Ideal candidates:
- Are comfortable speaking with members of the public
- Can record interviews using a smartphone or basic audio recorder
- Can take a simple, well-composed photo of the interview subject
- Speak either English or Spanish fluently
- Have reliable transportation within Berks County
- Are organized, professional, and respectful of others’ time
No journalism degree or writing experience is required. We’ll provide interview questions and support — your job is to help us gather real voices from the community.
Internship Opportunities for College Students
Hugg Media Group is a great place for students interested in media, communications, or public engagement to gain real-world experience. Our internships are flexible, hands-on, and designed to build your portfolio.
Interns may assist with:
- Community interviews and event coverage
- Social media content support
- Story research and scheduling
- Photography or multimedia documentation
We’re happy to work with your school to coordinate for-credit internships or volunteer hours.
